The moated temple at Mengwi, recursing on its river island, guardian home of the gods, floating in the sea of eternity.

Mengwi is tranquil park temple surrounded by a loop of the river, built at about the same time that Charles the first was ascending to the throne in England and the Puritans were de-camping to the America’s. Climb up the bell tower to get a perspective on the complex then walked through the temple and surrounding park in the early morning before the heat and humidity of the tropical day.
