Lunch at the volcano

Not so much a mountain range as a caldera rim

Sitting on the caldera lip of an ancient super volcano at Kintamani having lunch and looking across at the basalt flow fields on the slopes of Mt Batur.

Not much more to do here other than admire the view and enjoy the cool, Kintamani has the same kind of feel as those strip towns that you find driving along the pacific coast roads in California, except its a couple of thousand metres up in the sky, and on the edge of an extinct caldera, and in the tropic… Ehem, anyway waaay over on the right you can see lake Danau Batur. Travel tip number #234 when it’s hot and humid in the tropics always climb the super volcano for the breeze, alway.
